Silviano Custodio Barbosa was born in Cuncolim, Goa. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Bombay University in 1970. Barbosa immigrated to Canada in 1975 and undertook additional studies at the University of Toronto, Humber College and George Brown College. He lives in Toronto and works in the information technology field. He remains active in the Goan community.
