Publisher’s Synopsis

True Love in Shanghai is a collection of twelve charming stories about life and people in Shanghai in the post-Mao era of the 1980s. Although the stories depict different people’s lives and sentiments, they all hinge on the theme of love, which is the only value that gives life in China, past as well as present, meaning and substance.
