Michiko Nakamura

Michiko Nakamura was born in Nagoya, Japan. She and her spouse Banri Nakamura graduated from Musashino Art University in Tokyo with degrees in Product Design and both worked in Tokyo as designers before immigrating to Canada in 1972. Michiko furthered her study of ceramics at the Ontario College of Art and Design. She opened a studio in Toronto where she produced ceramics for decades. She and Banri relocated to rural Port Hope, Ontario in the new millennium.
