V. Subramaniam

V. Subramaniam was born in India. He earned a Ph.D. in Australia where he also taught before moving to Ottawa, Ontario. From 1974 he taught political science at Carleton University. Subramaniam was also a pioneering composer of classical dance dramas on Buddhist themes in Sanskrit. He died while visiting Chennai, India, on May 28, 2004.  Many of his dance dramas written in Sanskrit were published in collections with English translation in New Delhi by Ashish Publishing House between 1975 and 1985.
