Study Space

Study space is available at the Library for individual and group study and for participating in online classes.

  • Seating in the Library is first-come, first-served.
  • Bookable group study rooms can be reserved.
  • Students can quietly participate in online classes anywhere in the Library where study space is available with the exception of the 10th floor

Quiet Study (3rd – 9th floors)

Individual study spaces. No talking or whispering, and no talking on cell phones.

Silent Study (10th floor)

Individual study only – no talking or whispering, no talking on cell phones, minimal and quiet keyboarding, all audio muted.

Group Study (5th – 9th floors)

If you need to talk to your classmates, please consider booking a group study room. Group study rooms are located on floors 5-9. Low level discussion is permitted in the group study rooms on those floors.  Due to a lack of soundproofing, the level of group discussion must be respectful of the “absolute quiet” culture of the floors as a whole. The 8th floor also has an open group study area for quiet group study.

Computers (2nd, 3rd and 6th floors)

Floors 2 and 3 have the most computer workstations available.  For quiet work with a computer, please use the lab on the 6th floor (LIB667A) when the lab is not booked for workshop or class use. Laptops may be borrowed from the Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor. Check laptop availability.

Health and Safety Measures in the Library

Everyone in the Library is strongly recommended to wear a mask.

Hand sanitizer is available at entrances and disinfectant wipe canisters are available near study space stations.

If you are unwell, please stay home.
