Collections

The Toronto Metropolitan University Library has several specialized collections that are unique to the university.

Toronto Metropolitan University Archives

The Archives serves as the institutional memory of the TMU community. The Archives appraises, preserves, and makes accessible a broad range of primary source materials which provide administrative, academic, fiscal, legal, social, and cultural record of Toronto Metropolitan University.

Special Collections

Special Collections was established to help support the learning and teaching needs and facilitate the scholarly, research and creative activities of the TMU community by acquiring and preserving photography, film and cultural history objects. We have a particular responsibility to help students and staff gain access to objects in niche subject areas and aid them in the interpretation of those objects. Material Connexions

The Material ConneXion room in the University Library is a place to explore materials representing current trends in design, materials research and productions from all over the world. Patrons and researchers can discover interesting materials and related technologies that can lead to new sources of inspiration and creativity. For more details check the Materials Connexion page.

Map and Data Resources

The Geospatial Map and Data Centre (GMDC) is located on the main floor of the Toronto Metropolitan University Library, within the Ronald D. Besse Information and Learning Commons and via its website. The GMDC provides access to a wide range of Geospatial Data and GIS, an extensive Paper Map Inventory, and Statistics and Research Data. The GMDC supports the academic and research needs for members of the Toronto Metropolitan University Community (students, staff, and faculty) by providing geographic information resources (in digital format and print), locating statistics and data, and government publications.

RShare

RShare is a resource for collecting, preserving and providing access to the digital content produced by members of the TMU community. It contains articles, data, videos, audio files, 3D models, working papers, preprints, postprints, technical reports, conference papers, and more.
