Food & Drink Policy

No hot food can be eaten in the Library – please use the lounge area outside the food kiosk in the bridge to Kerr Hall, or the Hub Cafeteria.  Both are in close proximity to the Library. Cold, ‘finger’ food, such as fruit, granola bars, and cold sandwiches can be eaten in the Library to help maintain your energy level while studying, but please ensure that you dispose of your waste and recycling in the appropriate bins.  Library users in violation of the food and drink policy may be asked to discard their food, store it out of sight (e.g. in a bag or knapsack) or leave the Library.

Drinks in spill-proof cups/screw-top bottles are acceptable.  We encourage students to be environmentally-friendly by carrying re-useable mugs for coffee or screw-top bottles for water to limit unnecessary waste.

Please note that no food or drinks of any kind are allowed in the Archives and Special Collections reading rooms, the Material ConneXion (MCX) research collection room, and in the Geospatial, Map and Data Centre.

Thank you for helping us maintain a clean and welcoming study environment for all students.
