Answers

  1. How long will it take to complete the survey?
    The estimated time for completion is about 10 minutes.
  2. Can I skip questions that don’t apply to me?
    All questions need to be filled in. If you do not wish to answer a question or feel a question does not apply to you, please select NA (not applicable).
  3. Will there be any incentives for participating?
    Incentive prizes will be offered as thanks to student participants. At the end of the web-based survey, respondents may elect to include an email address, which will enter them in a drawing for one of three $50.00 Starbucks gift cards. Award winners will be notified after the completion of the survey by email and announced on the Library’s blog.
  4. Is there a specific Internet browser I should use?
    No. Any browser should work so long as it is not too old.
  5. Is the survey compatible with text-to-speech web browsers?
    Yes, the survey is compatible with the JAWS screen reader software.
  6. What if I cannot open the URL from my email?
    If you have trouble opening the URL from within your email message, you can copy the URL and past it into your Web browser. If you still cannot access the survey, contact libqual@torontomu.ca
  7. Can I complete a paper-based version of the survey?
    If you are not able to complete the web version of the survey, please contact libqual@torontomu.ca to make other arrangements.
  8. Is the survey confidential?
    Yes. The collected survey data will be stored at a secure server accessible only to ARL statisticians. To further ensure confidentiality, when the survey data is collected, the respondents’ answers are separated from their e-mail addresses before they are stored.
  9. What happens to the survey data?
    Once the survey closes, the collected data will be compiled and analyzed. Results will be posted on the Library website as soon as they are available.
  10. How and when is the LibQUAL+ survey conducted?
    In order to get a random sample, selected students will receive an email invitation to complete the web-based survey. All TMU faculty will be invited to participate in order to achieve the necessary sample size. Participation is completely voluntary. The survey will remain open for 4 weeks. Those invited to participate in the survey will receive an invitation on March 20th, 2019 and then weekly reminders until the survey closes.
  11. How can I offer feedback on library services if I am not invited to participate in LibQUAL?
    The Library always appreciates feedback from its users. Please send your comments to refdesk@torontomu.ca, and they will be considered alongside the results from LibQUAL+.
