2016 Census @ Statistics Canada
The 2016 Census Program website provides detailed demographic and socioeconomic data. Community Profiles provide data with a detailed level of geography. Data Tables provides a detailed look at cross-tabulated variables on a number of subjects. Subjects covered by the census include population, housing, family structure, aboriginal peoples, language, education, place of birth, ethnic origin, visible minorities, religion, immigration and citizenship, income and earnings, housing, shelter costs, labour, mobility and migration, and place of work and commuting. 1961 – 2011 Census Profile Tables with Census geography for Canada, provinces/territories, federal electoral districts, census divisions, census subdivisions, census tracts and dissemination areas. TMU faculty, staff and students only.

2011 National Household Survey

The 2011 NHS replaced the 2006 long-form census. Releases of the NHS will include statistics on aboriginal peoples, language, education, place of birth, ethnic origin, visible minorities, religion, immigration and citizenship, income and earnings, housing, shelter costs, labour, mobility and migration, and place of work and commuting.

CANSIM @ CHASS
The most detailed statistical source for Canadian social and economic data. Same data as CANSIM above with some additional options for subsetting and visualizing data. TMU faculty, staff and students only.

Censuses of Canada – 1665-1871

Censuses of Canada contain 343 tables on the social and economic conditions in Canada from the earliest settlements to 1871. Requires Beyond 2020 software to view which can be downloaded here.
