From Knowledge to Action: Crafting Your Financial Future (Building Wealth in Canada)
This session is presented in collaboration with the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of Canada, and will be delivered by a CPA member with expertise in personal finance and student-focused financial education.
This session equips students with practical tools for managing money with confidence. Learn how to create a realistic budget, understand cash flow, and define a financial plan that works for your goals. Key concepts like distinguishing wants from needs and recognizing the difference between “good debt” and “bad debt” will be covered, along with an introduction to three powerful savings vehicles: RRSPs, RESPs, and TFSAs, and how they can support your financial future. You'll also learn where to find trusted support and resources to keep your plan on track.
Whether you're earning consistent income, managing student debt, or planning for major life decisions, this session provides the tools to build a strong financial foundation and move toward long-term success.
Presenter: Dwayne Richards, CPA, CMA
Target Audience: Upper-year undergraduate and graduate students, particularly those earning income, managing debt, or planning for post-graduation financial independence.
