TMU Libraries offers an open access journal publishing service for faculty and students. In partnership with Scholars Portal, the Libraries currently host six active open access journals.
The Libraries use the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, an open-source journal management and publishing system developed by the Public Knowledge Project.
We support journal set-up and maintenance of journals, in addition to advice regarding the indexing and discoverability of online journal content. Services that we provide include:
- Establishing your journal on OJS
- Training for journal editors and managers
- Instructions for applying for an ISSN
- Assigning DOIs to published articles
- Advice on adding journal content to Google Scholar, Directory of Open Access Journals, etc.
- Importing content from journals currently published on a different hosting platform
- Content hosted by Scholars Portal Journal Services benefits from preservation in a trusted digital repository
