Stuck on a geoprocessing step, data source, or map design detail? Book a one-on-one GIS consultation with a GIS Specialist. Sessions are available for all TMU students, faculty, and staff. Appointments are offered in 30 or 60-minute blocks, either in person at the GMDC lab or remotely via Zoom.
Typical topics include finding relevant GIS data, joining census tables, troubleshooting ArcGIS or QGIS workflows, and refining cartographic layouts. Submit the online request form with a short description of your question and preferred meeting format. We aim to confirm your request within two business days.
Request a Workshop
Instructors and students can integrate spatial skills directly into their courses by scheduling a custom GIS workshop. We tailor sessions from 30-minute demonstrations to one hour hands on workshops to match your course objectives. Sample sessions include introducing ArcGIS Pro, teaching spatial join concepts, or guiding students through ESRI StoryMap creation. Workshops can be held in the GMDC Labs or virtually via zoom. Please complete the workshop request form at least one week in advance, noting class size, software needs, and desired learning outcomes. The GMDC team will follow up to finalize content and logistics.
