Welcome to the services and programs of the Geospatial, Map & Data Centre (GMDC). Whether you need a high-performance workstation, one-on-one help, or hands-on training, start here and get the help that fits your project.
The Geospatial, Map & Data Centre (GMDC) offers a full suite of facilities and services to support spatial and statistical research at TMU. Our GIS & Data Labs on the Library’s second floor are loaded with various specialized software that you can use to complete your research. You can drop in during Library hours for individual work or reserve the space for class instruction.
If you need expert guidance, submit a request for GIS Support or Request Statistical Support. Our specialists typically reply within two business days and can meet in person, over Zoom, or by email to troubleshoot everything from geoprocessing and map design to regression analysis and survey weighting. To build your skills, check the Workshop Series calendar: monthly GIS Basics sessions and topical deep dives (StoryMaps, LiDAR, spatial statistics).
Interested in capturing your own data? The Drone Learning Program lends DJI Mini 3 Pro kits and provides training on RPAS regulations, flight planning, and imagery processing; eligibility is open to TMU students, faculty, and staff with an approved project proposal.
