Shapr3Dis a popular 3D design tool used in several DME workshops. The following instructions guide you through how to secure a free license, but know that current TMU students and staff can access a number of other design tools, including:<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. TinkerCAD<\/a> (Beginner; web-based)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Fusion 360<\/a> (Intermediate-Advanced; Mac, Windows)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Solid Works (Intermediate-Advanced; access via TMU Virtual Apps<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. OnShape<\/a> (Intermediate-Advanced, iOS\/Android + web-based)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    TMU staff, students and faculty members can request free Education Access to Shapr3D. Please note: this is a non-TMU resource and you are encouraged to carefully review all license agreements and privacy policy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    How to Sign Up for a Free Shapr3D License <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Go to Shapr3D’s sign up page.<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Select \u201cRequest EDU License\u201d <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Type your TMU Email address, then select \u201cSign Up<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Create an account by typing in your email address again, a password, and your name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Click on \u201cI have read, understood and agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. You can choose “Download Shapr3D<\/em><\/strong>\u201d or you can download the app later.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    7. After you finish, you will be directed to your dashboard.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      1. Go to Shapr3D’s Education page<\/a> once again.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Select \u201cRequest EDU License\u201d <\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. You\u2019ll be directed to a page that shows the following:
        \u201cThis Email is not linked to an EDU License, would you like to continue. \u201c<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Press \u201cContinue Anyway<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Fill out the information boxes and upload your TMU ID pictures (front & back) for evaluation*<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      6. Submit your request and wait 3 business days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      7. You\u2019ll be sent an email titled: \u201cYour Shapr3D EDU license is approved!\u201d <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      8. Congratulations! Now you have free access to Shapr3D. You can download Shapr3D and start using it or log in with your credentials to start creating. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        *Tip: If your pictures are sized bigger than the limit of 1MB, you can save smaller version from your device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
