At the DME, students, staff, and faculty create content using new and emerging creative technologies. The DME operates as a peer-led experiential learning space designed to support library creators who learn through doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visiting the Lab<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The DME Lab is a spacious, accessible library space located in SLC 308. Most of our <a href=\"https:\/\/library.torontomu.ca\/dmelab\/bookings\/\">services<\/a> are offered on a drop-in basis, but 3D Printing and Laser Cutting need a booking outside of morning walk-in hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark>New!<\/mark> Lower sensory creative hours with reduced distractions are posted to our <a href=\"https:\/\/calendar.library.torontomu.ca\/calendar\/dme?cid=8225&amp;t=g&amp;d=0000-00-00&amp;cal=8225&amp;ct=37014&amp;inc=0\">weekly schedule<\/a>. The Lab does not charge usage fees or machine time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consumables are provided at no cost during workshops. Library users receive a set amount of 3D printing time per week (current limits are posted in our LibCal booking system shared with all after <a href=\"https:\/\/library.torontomu.ca\/dmelab\/home\/3dprinting\/\">3D printer training<\/a>). <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Outside of workshops, users may bring their own compatible materials and, with staff assistance, load them into DME equipment. A limited selection of commonly requested consumables is also available for purchase via OneCard.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>We welcome drop-ins! Even if you do not yet have a project in mind, drop by for a tour and leave with new ideas (and a small 3D-printed takeaway!)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Collaborations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you a TMU faculty member looking to integrate creative technology into your course? We offer two formats that you can request by emailing <a href=\"mailto:jloney@torontomu.ca\">jloney@torontomu.ca<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Small format, hands-on <a href=\"https:\/\/library.torontomu.ca\/dmelab\/training\/\">workshops <\/a><\/strong>for groups of up to 8 learners inside our SLC 308 lab space.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Larger format in-class presentations <\/strong>led by our staff technology training specialist.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>We would be pleased to meet with you and review your creative technology needs.
