Anita Majumdar is an award-winning actor, playwright and dancer. She was born in Port Moody, British Columbia but now lives in Toronto, Ontario. Majumdar trained at the National Theatre School of Canada and studied Kathak and other forms of traditional Indian dance. As well, she holds a B.A. in English, Theatre and South Asian Languages from the University of British Columbia. Her acting credits include film, television, and theatre.<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Fish Eyes<\/em> is the story of Meena, a classically trained Indian dancer who, despite being obsessed with Bollywood movies and her dance career, just wants to be like the rest of her high-school friends. When she develops a massive crush on Buddy, the popular boy at school, she contemplates turning down an incredible opportunity to pursue him, even if he barely notices her. Will her feelings for him threaten everything that\u2019s important to her?<\/p>\n

Boys With Cars<\/em> follows Naz, also a classically trained Indian dancer, who dreams of getting out of the small town of Port Moody to attend the University of British Columbia. But when Buddy causes a stir over Naz at school, Naz\u2019s university plans begin to crumble quickly. With her future in serious jeopardy, where will Naz turn, and, more importantly, to whom?<\/p>\n

Let Me Borrow That Top<\/em> centres on Candice, a girl who makes life hell for Meena and Naz. She appropriates Meena\u2019s Indian dance skills and dates her crush Buddy, and bullies Naz after a nasty rumour spreads through the halls of their high school. But like her two enemies, Candice shares a passion for Indian dancing, and has just been accepted to the Conventry School of Bhangra. Will she leave behind her friends, her boyfriend, and the comforts of home to pursue her dreams?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
