She is best known for hugely successful works <em>Skim<\/em> and <em>This One Summer<\/em> that she co-created with her cousin, writer <a href=\"https:\/\/library.torontomu.ca\/asianheritage\/authors\/tamaki\/\">Mariko Tamaki<\/a>. Her web-comic &#8220;SuperMutant Magic Academy&#8221; is now published as a graphic novel. Home is where family is, after all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jillian Tamaki\u2019s first book, <em>Gilded Lilies<\/em>, collects many of her previously published illustrations (New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, CBC, The New Yorker) as well as new drawings and comics. Included is a reprint of her mini-comic, City of Champions, as well as a new comic, The Tapemines, an 80-page wordless scroll about feral children in forests of cassette tape.
