Sharanpal Ruprai grew up in a Sikh household in Winnipeg.\u00a0 She received both a B.A. and B.Ed. from the University of Winnipeg and a M.A. in English from the University of Calgary.\u00a0 She holds a Ph.D. in Humanities from York University in Toronto. Ruprai worked as a contract faculty at Mount Royal University in Calgary but now has a position at the University of Winnipeg in the Women’s and Gender Studies Department.\u00a0 Ruprai has published in literary magazines and a couple of anthologies: Exposed<\/em>,\u00a0 Red Silk\u00a0<\/em><\/a>and The Calgary Renaissance<\/em>.<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Poems masquerading as recipes, poems masquerading as survival guides, poems simmered in love,\u00a0Pressure Cooker Love Bomb\u00a0<\/em>is a humorous collection of poems. Ruprai\u2019s second collection is infused with intense sexuality, racial tensions, and questions of gender conformity. With various textures of poems, the collection reads as woman of colour\u2019s manifesto with instructions.<\/p>\n
