Elisha Lim is a comics and video artist and writer.\u00a0 Lim earned a masters degree in English Literature from the University of Toronto and also received an honours B.A. from that institution with a double major in Anthropology and English. Lim recently earned a PhD in Information at the University of Toronto. Their dissertation is titled: Pious: Why Meta’s Business Model Drives Intolerance<\/a>.<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

100 Crushes<\/em> compiles five years of queer comics by Elisha Lim, including excerpts from Sissy<\/em>, The Illustrated Gentleman<\/em>, Queer Child in the Eighties<\/em>, and their cult series 100 Butches<\/em>, as well as new work. It’s an absorbing documentary that travels through Toronto, Berlin, Singapore, and beyond in the form of interviews, memoirs, and gossip from an international queer vanguard.<\/p>\n

Toronto-based artist Elisha Lim\u2019s work celebrates the dignity and power of being neither straight, nor white, nor cis-gendered. In 2011 they also successfully advocated for Canadian gay media to adopt the gender neutral pronoun “they.”<\/p>\n
