Sang Kim was born in South Korea and raised in Canada since 1975.\u00a0 His play Ballad Of A Karaoke Cowboy<\/em> first appeared in a University of Toronto literary magazine in 1992.\u00a0 Kim lives in Toronto where he is also a chef and restaurateur. Kim is also a blogger and hosts Sushi Making for the Soul<\/a> workshops. One of his stories is included in The Marginal Ride Anthology<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n

Ballad Of A Karaoke Cowboy<\/em> is set between an abandoned log cabin off an Indian reserve in northern Ontario and a karaoke bar in downtown Toronto. It is the story of a young Chinese man who loses his \u201cself\u201d in the world of karaoke and the myth of the western cowboy. It is also the story of his \u201cdamsel-in-distress\u201d, an ESL student, who attempts to understand the karaoke cowboy\u2019s predicament and identifies with his plight as a person in the new world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
