He lived in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory where he served a number of years ago as Playwright-in-Residence at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nakaitheatre.com\">Nakai Theatre<\/a>. He has worked as an educator and an environmental planner and has written stories in addition to plays. His award winning documentary, <a href=\"https:\/\/torontomu.primo.exlibrisgroup.com\/discovery\/fulldisplay?vid=01OCUL_TMU:01OCUL_TMU&#038;docid=alma991006276889708636\"><em>A Sorry State<\/em><\/a> (2012) about government apologies was commissioned by TVO and Knowledge Network. Miyagawa became a Certified Trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication in 2014.
