At home, the vacuum vrooms, the television blares and her twin sisters make a racket. Life outside the house is no better, with children splashing around the pool, carts squeaking at the supermarket and cars honking in the street. But when nighttime arrives, Nora can escape to her room, where she finally gets to hear the gentle brushing of branches against her windowsill and the soothing sounds of her family from the other side of the house. For Nora, nighttime is perfectly delightful.

Anthology (Comics)

The Witching Hours

Edited by Hannah Lou Myers.
Vancouver: Cloudscape Comics, 2019.

This anthology of 11 comics by women and non-binary creators from Western Canada.
It includes Milne’s 8-page comic: “Sisikit Din Ang Araw Kung Ikaw Ay Maghintay”.

Links

April dela Noche Milne personal website

Publisher Kids Can Press

April dela Noche Milne is a mixed Filipino-Canadian illustrator, comics creator and author living in Vancouver, on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.
