Anurima Banerji was born in Ottawa, Ontario. In 1999 she completed an M.A. in the area of culture studies at McGill University, submitting a dissertation entitled The Question of Culture in Derivatives of Marxist Theory<\/span>. Banerji is also a performance artist. She completed both a second masters degree and a Ph.D. in Performance Studies at New York University. Banerji now teaches in the Department of World Arts and Cultures\/Dance, UCLA School of the Arts and Architecture.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
