In 1999 she completed an M.A. in the area of culture studies at McGill University, submitting a dissertation entitled <span class=\"bold\">The Question of Culture in Derivatives of Marxist Theory<\/span>. Banerji is also a performance artist. She completed both a second masters degree and a Ph.D. in Performance Studies at New York University.
