Dane Liu was born in China and spent her teenage years in the US and Canada. She received a BA from the University of Toronto and her MS in Journalism from Columbia University. A journalist and fiction writer, Liu now lives in Portland, Oregon. The publisher of her debut children’s book, Friends Are Friends, Forever<\/em>, describes it as “[a] picture book based on the author’s own immigration story, the infinite impact of friendship, and passing on love and kindness around the world.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

On a snowy Lunar New Year\u2019s Eve in Northeastern China, it\u2019s Dandan\u2019s last night with Yueyue. Tomorrow, she moves to America. The two best friends have a favorite wintertime tradition: crafting paper-cut snowflakes, freezing them outside, and hanging them as ornaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
