Syed Moin Ashraf was born in Faizabad, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1926. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Lucknow, India, then obtained an M.A. in political science at the University of Ottawa. He holds a D.Litt. from an American University. Ashraf was a career civil servant with the Canadian government in Ottawa, Ontario. Most of the stories in his collection Come Brother, Lie Down!<\/span><\/em> were first published in Urdu in 1992. Ashraf died in July 2003.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
